Airtel spends 300 crores for brading & marketing new logo and services

Friends you all are busy with night-outs and time-outs because of your exams. All the best to you all friends. Now im here with a controversial topic. The topic is that Airtel spent 300crs for branding and marketing their services and logo.
Is it necessary to spend 300crs????!!
Go into the details i mean read the following post then you will come across to one extreme.

How much importance does a logo or signature tune have for a brand? And that too for a brand that has established itself in the field of telecom , which is one of utmost competition with operators making a beeline for supremacy. Airtel which has established itself as one of the world leaders in mobile telephony has finally started showing the results of its Rs 300 cr spend for marketing, advertising and branding. The first to change are the logo and the signature tunes.
Airtel’s previous logo had both white and red colours interchangeably. The interesting part was that the word ‘Air’ was written in black with a white background while ‘Tel’ was written in white on a red background. Sometimes they also included their slogan “Express Yourself” with the logo. There were at least 7 variants of the logo based on the permutations and combinations.
airtel
But today the logo looks more like a curved ‘A’ with little bit of highlighting to indicate what they call dynamism and the warm and friendly appeal of Airtel. They have also said that it represents a dynamic force of energy which would bring the management and customers closer.
airtel-new-logo
If this wasn’t enough, AR Rahman after his debacle with the CWG tune (though the remix was much better) comes back with a theme song having a younger and international feel to it. Their new commercial shows how a couple comes together due to the Airtel 3G technology which interestingly will be launched in India only by December.

So now that we have discussed the technical details, the biggest question is why did Airtel see the importance of such a move?
Airtel is offering services now in 19 Asian and African countries where truthfully speaking it has not yet reached leadership status though it’s there on that path. Through their rebranding and repositioning exercise, they aim to achieve an international appeal wherein customers not only in India but across the world recall their brand. With these points in mind, they seem to have embarked on this ambitious journey.

Does the move really work?

It’s a taken that wherever Airtel plans to expand around the globe, India will be its most important market. Would be interested to hear from you if anyone of you disagrees with that statement. Therefore the biggest move everyone was waiting for was their introduction of 3G services in India.
But instead Airtel came up with a complete rebranding exercise including a new logo, TV commercial and signature tune.
The previous logo was one of the most recognized logos in our country. Anyone and everyone be it from an illiterate person to a CEO knew that was Airtel. One of the reasons for it reaching somewhat of a generic brand status was its easily identifiable logo.
The previous signature tune of Airtel by AR Rahman is probably the most downloaded ringtone in the country at least. One thing about that tune was that it was instantly catchy when compared to the general trend related to AR Rahman tunes / songs. The new tune seems to have some words which I personally don’t seem to understand. It looks more peppy and international in its approach. But truth be told it DESTROYS the entire experience Airtel’s previous tune had set up.
The new commercials both talk about the 3G video calling experience and how it brings two love birds closer. But it’s still going to be a month before the 3G experience comes to India. Their previous ads were very inspirational or about bringing people together and included celebrities like Sachin, Shahrukh, Vidya Balan, Madhavan etc

But we can not completely say that Airtel did the wrong thing because to become internationally strong it may changed everything like logo, tune ................. But they might have kept the old tune for the new changes also because it is the most popular tune for ringtones in India.

Even their website which has been completely revamped is still working from an IP. Now that is really SAD!

Final Verdict

Poor attempt by Airtel to target the international audience. I wish instead they would have spent the 300 cr at improving their customer services and infrastructure. Everyone will still go for Airtel because they are still one of the best. But then today they majorly disappointed the country! It looks like in an attempt to please the international audience, they have forgotten about their home country itself!

So friends what do you say about this topic. Is it necessary to spend that much to improve. Think once friends they can improve service to the customers if they haven't spent
300crs for branding and marketing. That what i want to say friends. See you later. Once again All the best for your upcoming exams. Keep smiling. Love you all guys. Have a nice time. Thanks for visiting my blog regularly. Any queries then comment on my posts.

These days i have been posting about some international companies but now im here to post about an indian company. The company is Hero Honda. If we go in to the details. Here they are......
.
.
.
.
.

Hero Honda Motors Ltd. is the world's largest manufacturer of two – wheelers, based in India.

The company is a joint venture between India's Hero Group and Honda Motor Company, Japan that began in 1984.

In 2001, the company achieved the coveted position of being the largest two-wheeler manufacturing company in India and the ‘World No.1’ two-wheeler company in terms of unit volume sales in a calendar year by a single company. Hero Honda has retained that coveted position till date.

Today, every second motorcycle sold in the country is a Hero Honda bike. Every 30 seconds, someone in India buys Hero Honda's top-selling motorcycle – Splendor.

It has been referred to as the world's biggest manufacturer of 2-wheeled motorized vehicles since 2001, when it produced 1.3 million motorbikes in a single year. During the fiscal year 2008-09, the company has sold 3.28 million bikes and the net profit of the company stood at Indian rupee1,281.7 crore (US$ 290.95 million) up 32% from the previous fiscal year. The company's most popular model is the Hero Honda Splendor, which is the world's largest-selling motorcycle, selling more than one million units per  year. Hero Honda has been the largest two wheeler company in the world for nine consecutive years. The company had a market share of 41.35% in the year 2008-2009 and over a 25 year span it has crossed the 15 million unit milestone. Hero Honda sells more two wheelers than the second, third and fourth placed two-wheeler companies put together.

Company Profile

“Hero” is the brand name used by the Munjal brothers for their flagship company Hero Cycles Ltd. A joint venture between the Hero Group and Honda Motor Company was established in 1984 as the Hero Honda Motors Limited At Dharuhera India.

During the 1980s, the company introduced motorcycles that were popular in India for their fuel economy and low cost. A popular advertising campaign based on the slogan 'Fill it - Shut it - Forget it' that emphasised the motorcycle's fuel efficiency helped the company grow at a double-digit pace since inception.

Hero Honda has three manufacturing facilities based at Dharuhera and Gurgaon in HaryanaHaridwar in Uttarakhand. These plants together are capable of churning out 3.9 million bikes per year.Hero Honda's has a large sales and service network with over 3,000 dealerships and service points across India. Hero  and at
Honda's customer loyalty program,[clarification needed] the Hero Honda Passport Program, claims to be one of the largest programs of its kind in the world with over 3 million members.

The 2006 Forbes 200 Most Respected companies list has Hero Honda Motors ranked at 108.

History

India became the second largest two wheeler manufacturer in the world and starting in the 1950s with the Automobile Products of India (API) that manufactured the Lambrettas and Bajaj Auto Ltd. with its association with Piaggio of Italy (manufacturer of Vespa scooters) as the largest manufacturers within the country.

The license raj that existed between the 1940s to 1980s in India did not allow foreign companies to enter the market and imports were tightly controlled. This regulatory maze, before the economic liberalization, made business easier for local players to have a seller’s market. Customers in India were forced to wait up to 12 years to buy a scooter from Bajaj. The CEO of Bajaj commented that he did not need a marketing department, only a dispatch department. By the year 1990, Bajaj had a waiting list that was twenty-six times its annual output for scooters.

The motorcycle segment had the same long wait times with three manufacturers: Royal Enfield, Ideal Jawa, and Escorts. Royal Enfield made a 350cc Bullet with the only four-stroke engine at that time and took the higher end of the market but there was little competition for their customers. Ideal Jawa and Escorts took the middle and lower end of the market respectively.

In the mid-1980s, the Indian government regulations changed and permitted foreign companies to enter the Indian market through minority joint ventures. The two-wheeler market changed with four Indo-Japanese joint ventures: Hero Honda, TVS Suzuki, Bajaj Kawasaki and Kinetic Motor Company (Kinetic Honda). The entry of these foreign companies changed the Indian market dynamics from the supply side to the demand side. With a larger selection of two-wheelers on the Indian market, consumers started to gain influence over the products they bought and raised higher customer expectations. The industry produced more models, styling options, prices, and different fuel efficiencies. The foreign companies new technologies helped make the products more reliable and with better quality. Indian companies had to change to keep up with their global counterparts.

Diversification

The Group Chairman, Mr. Brij Mohan Lall Munjal has actively looked at diversification. A considerable level of vertical integration in its manufacturing activities has been present in the Group's growth and led to the establishment of the Hero Cycles Cold Rolling Division, Munjal and Sunbeam Castings, Munjal Auto Components and Munjal Showa Limited amongst other component-manufacturing units.

Expansion into the automotive segment started with the setting up of Majestic Auto Limited, where the first moped designed entirely in India, Hero Majestic, went into commercial production in 1978. Hero Motors, in collaboration with Steyr Daimler Puch of Austria introduced the which introduced another moped, the Hero Puch, in 1980. Hero Honda Motors was established in 1984 to manufacture 100 cc motorcycles.

The Hero Group also plans to expand into other segments like exports, financial services, information technology, insurance and telecommunication.

Vision

The Hero Honda story began with a simple vision – the vision of a mobile and an empowered India, powered by Hero Honda. This vision was driven by Hero Honda’s commitment to customer, quality and excellence, and while doing so, maintaining the highest standards of ethics and societal responsibilities. Hero Honda believes that the fastest way to turn that dream into a reality is by remaining focused on that vision.

Brand

The company has been continuously investing in brand building utilizing not only the new product launch and new campaign launch opportunities but also through innovative marketing initiatives revolving around cricket, entertainment and ground- level activation.

Hero Honda has been actively promoting various sports such as hockey, cricket and golf. Hero Honda was the title sponsor of the Hero Honda FIH Hockey World Cup that was played in Delhi during Feb-March 2010. Hero Honda also partners the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010.

Samsung - Born S.Korea became World's Largest Conglomerate

Friends yesterday was my b'day. I hope you all wished me. Thanks for wising me guys. But i didn't recognize any difference with normal day. I felt boredom up to 4:30 in the evening. At 4:30 my best friend Nani came to Anantapur from Bengaluru to meet  me. I spent the remaining time with him up to 9:30 pm. he presented me a photo frame gift. It was awesome but my best friend Sai sandeep gave a gift to me. It is very valuable gift. I haven't expect that type of gift from anyone in my life. You know what is the gift? It is a note book. What is special in it?? That note book is framed by our father of nation ''MAHATMA GANDHI's'' image. The note book contains 'A brief biography' of Gandhi at the starting. Every page in the note book has a proverb by Gandhi. Do you know why Sandeep gave me that? Because I like Gandhi very much than anyone.

Ok leave it. Let us we come 'to the point'. Now i'm here to present some matter about Samsung Group.

SAMSUNG:

Samsung is the world's largest conglomerate born in South Korea and captured the world market. The Samsung Group (Korean: 삼성그룹) is a multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea. It is South Korea's largest chaebol and the world's largest conglomerate by revenue. The Samsung Group comprises numerous international affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Samsung brand including Samsung Electronics, the world's largest technology company by sales. Samsung Heavy Industries, the world's second largest shipbuilder ,Samsung Engineering was ranked 35th, Samsung C&T 72nd in a 2009 ranking of 225 global construction firms compiled by the Engineering News-Record, a U.S. construction journal. Samsung Electronics ranked 35th in Fortune Global 500 2010.

Samsung Group accounts for more than 20% of South Korea's total exports, and in many domestic industries, Samsung Group is the sole monopoly dominating a single market, its revenue as large as some countries' total GDP. In 2006, Samsung Group would have been the 35th largest economy in the world if ranked, larger than that of Argentina. The company has a powerful influence on the country's economic development, politics, media and culture, being a major driving force behind the Miracle on the Han River; many businesses today use its international success as a role model.

History:

In 1938, Lee Byung-chull (1910–1987) of the large landowning family in the Uiryeong county came to the nearby Daegu city and founded Samsung Sanghoe (삼성상회), a small trading company with forty employees located in Su-dong (now Ingyo-dong). It dealt in groceries produced in and around the city and produced noodles itself. The company prospered and Lee moved its head office to Seoul in 1947. When the Korean War broke out, however, he was forced to leave Seoul and started a sugar refinery in Busan as a name of Cheil Jedang. After the war, in 1954, Lee founded Cheil Mojik and built the plant in Chimsan-dong, Daegu. It was the largest woolen mill ever in the country and the company took on an aspect of a major company.

Samsung diversified into many areas and Lee sought to establish Samsung as an industry leader in a wide range of enterprises, moving into businesses such as insurance, securities, and retail.
In the late 1960s, Samsung Group began the electronics industry. It formed several electronics-related divisions, such as Samsung Electronics Devices Co., Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co., Samsung Corning Co., and Samsung Semiconductor & Telecommunications Co., and made the facility in Suwon. Its first product was a black-and-white television set. In 1980, the company acquired Hanguk Jeonja Tongsin in Gumi, and started to build telecommunication devices. Its early products were switchboards. The facility were developed into the telephone and fax manufacturing systems and became the centre of Samsung's mobile phone manufacturing. They have produced over 800 million mobile phones to date. The company grouped them together under Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. in the 1980s.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Samsung Electronics invested heavily in research and development, investments that were pivotal in pushing the company to the forefront of the global electronics industry. In 1982, it built a television assembly plant in Portugal; in 1984, a plant in New York; in 1985, a plant in Tokyo; in 1987, a facility in England; and another facility in Austin in 1996. In total, Samsung has invested about $5.6 billion in the Austin location – by far the largest foreign investment in Texas and one of the largest single foreign investments in the United States. The new investment will bring the total Samsung investment in Austin to more than $9 billion.

Compared to other major Korean companies, Samsung survived the 1997 Asian financial crisis relatively unharmed. However, Samsung Motor was sold to Renault at a significant loss. As of 2010, Renault Samsung is 80.1 percent owned by Renault and 19.9 percent owned by Samsung. Additionally, Samsung manufactured a range of aircraft from the 1980s to 1990s. The company was founded in 1999 as Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the result of merger between then three domestic major aerospace divisions of Samsung Aerospace, Daewoo Heavy Industries, and Hyundai Space and Aircraft Company. However, Samsung still manufactures aircraft engines.
